Rotterdam AI Literacy & Safety
Join us in preventing AI from going off the rails.
We’re a student-run community in Rotterdam dedicated to understanding AI and the risks that come with it. Bring your curiosity. No tech background needed!
The people building the most advanced AI systems openly disagree about how risky they are. Some of them have quit their jobs over it. Meanwhile, most of us use these tools every day without much idea of how they work.
You shouldn’t need a computer science degree to have a say in how AI develops, or to help make it go well. RAILS welcomes students from every background who want to learn more about this technology and help it turn out well for humanity.
We run 1–2 events a month during the academic year.
Learn what AI safety is and keep up with the latest in AI, including incidents of AI systems going rogue.
Hear from researchers and professionals working on AI safety, from technical research to operations, then chat with them afterwards.
Read a paper or book together and talk it through. Groups meet weekly for a fixed number of weeks.
Every event is listed on Luma. Follow RAILS there to get an email whenever we post a new one.
We’re a small team, always looking for help with events, design, social media and outreach. Email us or message us on Instagram and tell us what you’d like to do.
